About the Coptic Orthodox Church

The Coptic Orthodox Church is the Orthodox Church of Egypt. Coptic simply means Egyptian. The Coptic Orthodox Church was founded by St. Mark the Evangelist when he came to the lands of Egypt in the year 42 A.D. St. Mark, author of the gospel that bears his name preached the good news to those in Egypt bringing them “out of darkness into the true light”

Apostolic & Orthodox

Sacramental

The Coptic Orthodox Church is sacramental. We receive adoption through baptism in which we can call God, Abba, Father (Romans 8:15). We receive restoration in confession and repentance, and unite with Christ at the altar through the real presence of His Body and Blood in the Eucharist.
